FAQ Orpington Clinic

What should I expect to happen at my physiotherapy assessment?

Your initial assessment involves a deep investigation to identify the root cause of your pain. You will discuss your medical history and symptoms, followed by a physical examination of your movement and strength. From this, your therapist will provide manual soft tissue therapy and a bespoke rehabilitation programme featuring videos and exercises to support your recovery.

Sports therapy is a comprehensive approach focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and rehabilitation of injuries to return you to full functional fitness. In contrast, a sports massage is a specific manual technique used within a treatment plan to manipulate soft tissue, reduce muscle tension, and aid recovery. At Jon W Sports Injury, all appointments include sports massage as part of the broader clinical care.

At our Orpington clinic, a standard physiotherapy or sports injury consultation is ÂŖ50. This price applies to both the initial assessment and any subsequent follow-up appointments, ensuring transparent and consistent pricing for your treatment.

A deep tissue massage typically lasts 30 minutes or 60 minutes, depending on your specific needs. A 30-minute session is often sufficient for targeting a single problem area, whereas a 60-minute session allows for a more comprehensive full-body treatment or multiple areas of concern.
