The foot is the first thing to make contact with the ground with any weight bearing activities (such as running, walking, squatting). The foot therefore has to absorb the reaction force from the ground into the body. As a result, if there is any abnormal foot biomechanics this can create excessive force throughout the body. This typically causes pain around the foot, knee, hip and lower back.
At Jon W Sports Injury we place considerably importance on the analysis of foot biomechanics if it is believed this could be a contributing factor.
We complete a foot assessment and analyse the biomechanics. We can also supply corrective orthotics if we believe suitable.
